Agriculture Irrigation Improvement Projects:

In collaboration with the Mancos Watershed Stream Management Plan, the Mancos Conservation District set out to improve agriculture irrigation infrastructure within the Mancos Watershed to promote the health and functionality of the Mancos Watershed. Below are pictures of this work and a report showcasing our projects and funding sources.

 Mancos River Diversion Projects

From 2006-2010, assessments of the Mancos River Watershed revealed some critical issues, including outdated irrigation infrastructure is taking a toll on the Mancos River, degradation of the river channel, inefficient and poorly measured water delivery, irrigators are frustrated and unable to afford ongoing maintenance, and a major portion of the degradation occurs at diversion sites. From 2010 to 2016, the Mancos Conservation District Developed three phases of diversion projects.
