(NRCS) for step by step instructions on how to bring your pasture back to life. We will have the no-till seed drill out for a hands-on re-seeding demonstration.
5:00- 7:00pm: Learn basic pasture plant ID, grazing management best practices from Emily Lockard and and get an overview of grazing livestock nutrition from Beth LaShell.

MCD Annual Meeting of the Landowners
The Mancos Conservation District's Annual Meeting of the Landowners will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mancos Community Center, 130 Grand Avenue, Mancos. Northern Water's Esther Vincent will be our featured guest speaker. She will present about the challenges and successes of Northern Water's postfire watershed restoration efforts following the 2020 East Troublesome Fire and the need to plan for postfire impacts before fires happen. We will also introduce the District’s staff and Board Members, recognize volunteers, display photo contest submissions, and will announce the MCD’s annual photo contest winners. The MCD Board of Supervisors will review proposed changes to the district's bylaws for landowner consideration and possible approval. Mancos Watershed Tour
We will be offering a tour of the Mancos Watershed, in response to community requests. Join us on October 13th, for an all day experience touring the upper and lower reaches of the watershed, including the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Park. Guided by Shauna Jensen-USFS, Wayne Eppich-MCD Board Member, and a Tribal Tour Guide. The tour costs $50 and includes lunch, snacks, a private Tribal Park tour, and endless information. Registration is required - see the attached flyer or our website for more information or to register. We will meet at 7:45 am at Boyle Park, vans will depart at 8:00 am and we plan to return to Mancos by 6:00 pm. Register soon, as space is limited.
Community Appreciation Dinner
You are invited to an Appreciation Dinner to celebrate and honor you for the time you've put into the One Watershed - One Community Workshops and the creation of the Mancos Watershed Stream Management Plan. The dinner will be on Tuesday, October 10th, at 5:30 pm at the Community Center and is free to anyone who has participated in the process, but registration is required - sign up here. Plan to enjoy dinner, socializing and a presentation on what has come from your input to this process so far. Please register by October 7th!
