Mancos Watershed Tour
Join the Mancos Conservation District and partners for an all-day adventure through the Mancos Watershed! This tour is a great opportunity to see the entire watershed in one day and listen to the different management practices occurring throughout the watershed.
The tour will take place on Friday, September 27th from 8 am-6 pm (it is worth the long day!) During the tour, you will be taken to the Upper Watershed to learn about management on US Forest Service land at the Transfer Overlook, hear about irrigation infrastructure basics and water management in the Middle Watershed, and spend the afternoon on the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Lands hearing from their staff on restoration and management efforts.
Registration is $25; this includes lunch, snacks, a private Tribal Park tour, and endless information!

2nd Annual Mancos Splash
Join the Mancos Watershed Group and partners to celebrate and learn about how they are making a splash in the Mancos Watershed!
We will have food, music, raffle prizes, and many educational booths to understand the great work that is happening across the watershed. From agriculture practices to stream restoration, there are many things to learn about!
MWSMP Feedback Session
We will be collecting feedback through these feedback sessions and also this Google Form. A link is posted on our MWSMP website and will be shared on Social Media as well.
This event will focus specifically on the projects, initiatives, and studies section of the draft. If you would like to provide broader feedback you can still do so through the Google Form. We recognize that there is a wide array of water users and values connected to the Mancos River. The goal is to incorporate views and projects that would benefit multiple stakeholders and we welcome constructive feedback from stakeholders on how we can improve this plan and ensure it is meeting the goals outlined by the stakeholders and partners.
Understanding AG w/Fernando Falomir
Join the High Desert Conservation District and Lanier Farms for a FREE workshop featuring Fernando Falomir. There will be discussions on regenerative farming in arid environments, soil and plant health, preparing for drought, and a tour of the Lanier Farm (where 500 cattle are moved daily).

Local Work Group Meeting
Join us at our Annual Local Work Group meeting. This is time for the community to identify existing agricultural and natural resource conservation concerns in our community, and to provide information and feedback for directing USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs.
Grass ID Workshop
Join CSU-Ext Montezuma, High Desert and Mancos Conservation Districts, and Southwest Seed for a grass identification workshop held on June 25th, 5-7pm at Fozzie's Farm. Walt and Robby Henes will bring their knowledge of grasses to share details about common introduced and native grasses. Emily Lockard will start us off with an introduction to grass plant parts that will help you on your grass ID journeys. Mining Information Session
Join us to hear from stakeholders involved with the Metallic Minerals exploratory drilling activities. This will include informational presentations on the current and planned activities with time for questions. Speakers will be from Metallic Minerals, US Forest Service, and the Colorado Department of Water Resource (DWR).
MWSMP Feedback Event
We are hosting an event on Wednesday 6/12 from 4-6 pm at the Towaoc Community Center. This will be a feedback session on the Mancos Watershed Stream Management Plan and a time for people to share their thoughts on the draft plan.
For the event, although we are focusing on tribal input, this event is open to anyone who would like to share their thoughts on this topic. Food and drinks will be provided.

Mancos Valley Smart Metering Information Session
Join us to learn more about how your ditch company can get involved in the Mancos Valley Smart Metering Project. Remote metering arrays provide water users and managers easy access to water measurement amounts, allowing for more efficient and accurate water management in the Valley.
Meet us at the MCD office to learn about funding opportunities, cost & benefits, and a tour of two pipelines in Mancos where remote metering arrays have been installed.
MWSMP Feedback Event
The Mancos River Agricultural Committee will be hosting a Mancos Watershed Stream Management feedback event on Thursday, May 30th from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Mancos Community Center
This is an opportunity to provide input on the draft MWSMP.
Mancos Watershed Roundtable Discussion
The Mancos Conservation District is hosting a roundtable discussion next Tuesday 5/21 from 4-6 pm at the Towaoc Community Center. This discussion will be a space for community members to share their thoughts on the Mancos Watershed and why it is important to them. For the event, although we are focusing on tribal input, this event is open to anyone who would like to share their thoughts on this topic. Food and drinks will be provided at the event.
Fire Preparedness Bootcamp for Landowners
Fire Preparedness for Landowners will cover a variety of essential topics necessary to prepare for a wildfire. This program includes information on forest ecology, the history of wildfires in Southwest Colorado, home hardening, and defensible space tactics. Additionally, landowners will have the opportunity to participate in various workshops such as Chainsaw 101, oak and understory management, burn pile construction, prescribed fire planning, and proper stacking for chipping.
